Parmar Texaco — - 3 - "' April 2012
Remediation Summary
• Free Product: Free product has historically been noted in MW-1 (up to 0.52 feet), MW 2
(up to 0.62 feet) and MW-3 (up to 0.68 feet). None noted since 2003.
• Soil Excavation: Between 100 and 150 cubic yards of impacted soil were removed and
disposed offsite in 1988, estimated to include 760 pounds of TPHg
• In-Situ Soil Remediation: Soil vapor extraction pilot test, conducted from June 2010
through August 2010 removed approximately 2,700 pounds of TPHg.
• Groundwater Remediation: Air sparging is proposed.
General Site Conditions
• Geology and Hydrogeology: The Site is underlain by interbedded and intermixed sand,
silt and clay. The depth to groundwater is approximately 49 feet bgs and the
groundwater gradient is southwest at approximately 0.001 ft/ft.
• Estimate of Hydrocarbon Mass in Soil: Prior to remediation, Stephen Muir, consulting
geologist estimated that approximately 15,026 pounds of TPHg remain in the subsurface
• Groundwater Trends: There are more than 23 years of groundwater monitoring data for
this Site. Benzene trends are shown below, source area (MW-3 and MW-1) and down
gradient (MW-8)
BENZENE Results for PT-MW3
BOO
500 _... _... ..
I
zoo
BENZENE ---Trend
BENZENE Results for PT-MW1
400
350 . : .
300
300
so
,00
3
°
——BENZENE --- Tmod
