The '�tocedure will protect the <br /> employee who might be mistakenly accused--and will allow for proper <br /> action to be taken in the case of an emoloyet who is under the <br /> influence of alcohol and/or drugs while on the fob. <br /> Urine screenings will be aurru nl.stered in the following instances, <br /> 1. In conjunction with the pre-employment physical exam. <br /> 2. In conjunction with the D. .T. recurrent physical exam. <br /> 3• In the event of work related i~-juries requiring ,tedical ' <br /> treatment other than minor first aid. <br /> 4. In case of probable suspicion. where one appears to be under <br /> - ' the influence of drugs or alcohol. <br /> r; <br /> Screenings will be conducted by Readicare (California industrial <br /> Medical. Clinics) . The clinic will adhere to a strict policy of <br /> confidentiality, chain of custody, and documentation. In the event of <br /> a positive result on the initial screening, a second confirming test <br /> Will be performed on the same specimen using a different procedure. <br /> Prospective employees who test positive on the pre-employment <br /> screening will not be employed. Current employees who test positive ; <br /> will be either terminated or suspended without pay and referred to a <br /> drug assistance program. Upon release from the program the employee <br /> will be retested. If the emrioyee is free of drugs and/or alcohol at <br /> that time, then every effort will be made by the company to reinstate <br /> him or her into his or her old job providing a vacancy exists.
