SITE DESCRIPTION: The subject site is located in northern San Joaquin County, <br /> California (Figures 1 and 2) The address of the site is 521 North Cherokee Lane in the <br /> city of Lodi, San Joaquin County, California at the northwest corner of Cherokee Lane <br /> and Murray Street (Figure 3 ) The rectangular property is approximately 150 feet by <br /> 160 feet in area, and includes a steel building and canopy where former gasoline <br /> dispensers were located (Figure 3) The building is currently used as a tyre repair shop <br /> According to the San Joaquin County Planning Department the property is zoned for <br /> commercial use The site is surrounded by commercial and residential properties as <br /> follow <br /> i <br /> North El Rancho Inn <br /> East North Cherokee Lane, and across the street is a U-Haul business and skating rink <br /> South Murray Street, and across the street is a model <br /> West Residential housing <br /> The property is identified as San Joaquin County Assessors Parcel Number APN 041- <br /> 274-56 and is located within the west central portion of Section 1, Township 3 North, <br /> Range 6 East, Mount Diablo Baseline and Meridian <br /> 2.1 Historical Site Summary <br /> Six former underground gasoline storage tanks (UST) and two dispenser islands were <br /> located at property when it was operating as a service station The last time the station <br /> was operating as a service station was pre-1986 when it was known as Lerner Texaco and <br /> Parmar Texaco <br /> Local residents knowledge with the history of businesses in the city of Lodi have <br /> indicated that this property was a gasoline service station from approximately 1950 to <br /> 1983 After about 1983 the site has reportedly been used mainly as an automotive repair <br /> shop or tire repair store The site has also been known as J&A Auto Repair and Corona's <br /> Fixin Tires <br /> The site has an unclear history of UST operatorship Apparently one of the last UST <br /> operators was Ramos Oil Company (RAMCON) Immediately prior to the UST removals <br /> in 1988 the property was owned by Mr And Mrs Carl Yearing and had been operated by <br /> a tenant or lessee doing business under the operating name of Parmar Texaco The last <br /> known operator of fuel sales at the site was Ramos Oil Company <br /> RAMCON submitted an application to PHSEHD to remove the six UST's on February 2, <br /> 1988 UST's identified at the site that were to be removed during February, 1988 <br /> included the following <br /> 1 550 gallon waste oil tank <br /> 1 9,950 gallon gasoline tank <br /> Main\b nvironmentaMarmarTexaco\Workplan\042003 wpd 3 <br />
