PRODUCT RECOVERY TEST
On September 20, 1994, the free product (FP) layer was removed from MW-3 by bailing approximately
5 gallons of water/FP from the well. After removal the recovery of the FP layer was monitored by
measuring the FP thickness at 5 minute intervals for the first hour and 15 minute intervals for the second
hour. No measurable recovery was observed during the test. The water/FP was transported immediately
to the Ramos Environmental facility in West Sacramento, California for recycling.
CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the data supplied within this QSR
* It appears that MW-1 is not functioning properly and needs to be properly destroyed. The necessity
to replacement the well may be determined after the hydropunch data has been collected and
reviewed
* Additional QA/QC tests should be performed to establish a consistent laboratory
* Removal of the FP layer by bailing should be the most cost effective option. Removal will be
performed concurrently with other site progress (e.g drilling) or at least quarterly
LIMITATIONS
The collection of subsurface information is an inexact science. The preferred methods used to collect
subsurface data should be expected to vary between different consultants. Furthermore, the methods used
by the same consultant should be expected to change based on site conditions and technological advances
This workplan represents a professional opinion based on the data provided in the reports cited earlier
This work plan does not represent this professional's opinion regarding the total scope of work which may
need to be performed to fully assess and/or remediate this site.
