Box 388 Stockton, CA 95201-0388
(209) 468-3420
C011L lfi
STEVE WILLIAMS
ASTA CONSTRUCTION JAN 30 1995
P O BOX 758
RIO VISTA CA 94571
RE: 681 EAST LOCKEFORD STREET
LODI CA
San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) has completed
a review of the "Report for Waste Oil Tank Removal and Diesel Contaminated Soil Remediation" dated
December, 1994, and has the following comments for your consideration.
The removal of approximately 2000 cubic yards of soil during the October 1994 over-excavation
activities appears to have successfully removed the bulk of the contaminated soils evidenced during
the recent tank removal. It appears that this source removal adequately protects the present and
future beneficial uses of groundwater in this region.
With the provision that the information provided to this agency was accurate and representative of
existing conditions, PHS/EHD has determined that additional investigation and/or remediation with
respect to this tank area is not warranted at this time. Therefore, this site has been removed from the
local contaminated data base list and will not be referred to any state agency for follow up.
Please be advised that this letter does not relieve you of any liability under the California Health and
Safety Code or Water Code for past, present, or future operations at the site. Nor does it relieve you
of the responsibility to clean up existing, additional or previously unidentified conditions at the site
which cause or threatens to cause pollution or nuisance or otherwise pose a threat to water quality or
public health.
If you have any questions or wish to discuss this letter in more detail, please contact Linda Turkatte,
Senior REHS, at (209) 468-3441.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
j" q:7—uxjv*
Linda Turkatte, Senior REHS Diane M.
