A copy of the Notification of Hazardous Waste
Discharge is enclosed for your information.
In order for PHS/EHD to monitor the status of the cleanup of the diesel discharge pursuant to San Joaquin County
Development Code section 9-1125 at seq., please forward copies of all letters and reports concerning the cleanup
at this site to PHS/EHD as well as the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB).
Due to the volume of sites documented with some type of soil and/or groundwater contaminant problem, the
CVRWQCB is unable to provide regulatory oversight on every case. Many landowners have remained on a
statewide contamination site list unable to resolve the contamination problem because of the lack of regulatory
guidance and review of the investigative site work.
Recently, in response to the publics demand for a more streamlined approach to government regulations,
PHS/EHD met with the CVRWQCB's Spills, Leaks, Investigation and Cleanup (SLIC) Unit to establish and revise
the contamination referral process.
As a result of the meeting, PHS/EHD now provides preliminary oversight to property owners desiring to secure site
investigations for non-tank related contamination. A fee schedule and enrollment forms are enclosed with this
letter should you wish to participate in this program.
If you have any questions or wish to discuss this letter in more detail, please contact Linda Turkatte, Senior
REHS, at (209) 468-3441.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health D''ilvnision
LouA
Linda Turkatte, Senior REHS Diane M.
