Page 2 <br /> Attached as Exhibit B is the Underground Storage Tank <br /> Unauthorized Release (Leak)/Contamination Site Report, dated <br /> 2-15-90. The copy is nearly illegible. The comments as <br /> stated on the form are as follows: <br /> Laboratory soil sample results from Tank #2 - <br /> 10, 000 gallon diesel tank removed 1-12-90 were <br /> positive for total petroleum hydrocarbons soil <br /> contamination. Further site assessment will be <br /> required to determine nature and extent of <br /> contamination as required to determine the nature <br /> �. and extent of contamination as required by the <br /> appropriate regulatory agency. <br /> WORKPLAN FOR RE-EXCAVATION & RESAMPLE: Based upon the <br /> ` results of the prior work and sample analysis as detailed <br /> above, the following workplan is proposed to remove residual <br /> amounts of contamination, obtain soil samples, as specified, <br /> and store removed spoil on plastic, on site, pending <br /> remediation plans or disposal. <br /> t. 1 . Using Jim Thorpe oil , Inc. personnel and equipment, <br /> excavate the area where the tank was located, removing an <br /> additional f/- 5 feet of spoil beyond the original <br /> excavation limits from the sides and bottom. See Plate IV <br /> for proposed excavation limits. Actual amounts of spoil <br /> will be determined as excavation proceeds. Spoil will be <br /> placed on .plastic ajacent to the excavation. Programs for <br /> soil remediation will be prepared at the completion of this <br /> phase of the operation. <br /> 2 . The above operation will be conducted under the <br /> direction and supervision of a Registered Geologist and an <br /> EHS from the County Public Health Services, Environmental <br /> r.. <br /> Health Division. <br /> 3 . Six soil samples will be collected from the backhoe <br /> bucket using properly prepared brass tubes; will be sealed, <br /> +� labeled, and refrigerated while under transport to Geo- <br /> Analytical Laboratories for analysis. Samples are proposed <br /> to be taken from the sidewalls and bottom as indicated on <br /> Plate V, but may be changed or modified depending on <br /> conditions encountered while excavating. Sample locations <br /> will be verified by a representative of the San Joaquin Co. <br /> EHD. <br /> 4 . Samples will be analyzed as follows: <br /> w. A. Diesel tank location; TPH-D <br />
