meat and disposal at their facility east of Manteca. - On June 21 , '
1953, all of the contaminated spoil, (a total ofapproximately
180 CY' s, ) was transported to the Forward site; copies of the'
waste manifests are attached 'as EXHIBIT G.
The excavation was filled with clean material stored :on' the' property, and compacted. A licensed engineering- firm' performed
field density tests after backfilling to verify that the material
was properly compacted. The "'results of that work is included as
` EXHIBIT H. ,
COLLUSIONS
1. Laboratory tests of soil samples from the, site of the removed
diesel UST revealed that BTEX was- not present at `detecton J
limits
2. TPH as diesel was present in only one sample; at 10. 5 mg/kg,
which is far below the limit .of 100 mg/kg allowed to be' left in
place using the Leaching Potential Analysis. for Diesel worksheet
from the LUFT Manual.
k
3. All contaminated spoil has been removed from: the property;
and the excavation has been filled with clean soil and "properly ;
compacted.
4. No further investigative work or spoil removal is required at
this location.
RECOMMENDATION:
The results of the work performed as described above show that
all significant contamination has been removed from the' ' site
which was occupied by the diesel UST, and the contaminated spoil
has been transported to:.a licensed disposal facility for treat-
ment or storage.
Therefore, it is believed that further work at this location is
not necessry, and site closure should be approved by the County
EHD, And a propriate supporting documents issued.
WM.
