Box 388
Stockton, California 95201-388
RE: Soil Boring Installation Report
Shell Service Station
880 Victor Road
Lodi, California
WIC#204-4416-0806
Dear Mr. Sasson:
This report documents the installation of two exploratory soil borings at the above
referenced site (Plates 1 and 2). The work was performed in response to the August 14,
1995 San Joaquin County Public Health Services (SJCPHS) letter requiring further
investigation in the vicinity of the former underground storage tank (UST) area. Enviros
performed the.work in accordance with a work plan prepared by Fugro West, Inc., and in
compliance with SJCPHS and Regional Water Quality Control Board guidelines.
1.0 SITE DESCRIPTION
The site is currently an operating gasoline station located on the southeast comer of
the intersection of Victor Road and Beckman Road in Lodi, California(Plates 1 &
2). The site layout consists of a service station building, two dispenser islands,
two double-walled fiberglass USTs, associated piping, and a waste oil tank.
Ground water beneath the site is estimated to be approximately 65 feet below grade
(fbg).
During December 1994,four single-walled steel USTs (two 10,000 gallon and two
6,000 gallon) were removed along with associated product piping. Soil samples
collected from beneath the former dispenser islands and product piping did not
contain detectable concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons. Petroleum
hydrocarbons were detected in soil samples collected from the former UST
excavation. Over-excavation was performed and additional soil samples were
collected. Soil sample TP-1,collected at 21 fbg contained 1,000 parts per million
(ppm) of Total Purgeable Petroleum Hydrocarbon (TPPH), and soil sample
EN-2NSW, collected at 17 fbg, contained 0.024 ppm xylenes. Complete results of
the UST removal are documented in the Fugro West, Inc., April 19, 1995
Underground Storage Tank Closure Report.
Envlror, Inc. 270 Perkins Street Sonoma, California Tel 707/935-4850
P.O.Box 259 95476-0259 Fax 707/935-6649
