C A M B R I A
0
2002 Aquifer Punip Test During October 2002, Cambria performed an extended aquifer pump
test extracting 4,248 5 gallons of groundwater from MW-4 over a 5-day period Based on the
extracted volume and sample analytical results, approximately 3 33 pounds of MTBE were
removed Complete results from the aquifer pump test are documented in Cambria's
December 13, 2002 Aquifer Pump Test Report
2003 Soil Vapor Extraction (SVE) Test- During September 2003, Cambria installed three SVE
wells (SVE-1, SVE-2, and SVE-3) During October 2003, Cambria performed a 5-day SVE test
using these wells During this test, approximately 2 68 pounds of TPHg and 1 42 pounds of
MTBE were removed Due to low influent concentrations, which indicate that there is
insignificant impact to the source area, Cambria does not recommend additional SVE Cambria
documents this test in our November 14, 2003 Soil Vapor Extraction Test Report
2003 Well Installation During July 2003, Cambria installed three offsite wells (MW-8, MW-9,
and MW-10) and one deep onsite well (MW-11) No TPHg, BTEX, or fuel oxygenates were
detected in soil from well borings MW-8, MW-9, or MW-10, although the samples were
analyzed outside of hold time Soil samples were not collected from well boring MW-11 because
• it is located near MW-1 These results complete lateral definition of petroleum hydrocarbons
and fuel oxygenates in soil at this site Cambria describes this investigation in our
December 3, 2003 Site Investigation/Third Quarter Groundwater Monitoring Report and Site
Conceptual Model
Groundwater Monitoring Program There are currently eight monitoring wells (MW-1 through
MW-7 and MW-11) and two piezometers (P-1 and P-2) located onsite and three offsite wells
(MW-8, MW-9, and MW-10), which are sampled quarterly During the second quarter 2004
sampling event, MTBE was detected in wells MW-1, MW-3 through MW-5, MW-7, P-1, and P-2
at concentrations ranging from 4 3 to 6,700 ppb TBA was detected in wells MW-1 through
MW-4, P-1, and P-2 at concentrations ranging from 79 to 240,000 ppb MTBE and TBA were
not detected in groundwater from wells MW-6, MW-8, MW-9, or MW-10 No other fuel
oxygenates were detected TPHg and BTEX sample analyses were not conducted during this
event These constituents are typically not detected at elevated reporting limits
INTERIM REMEDIATION
The objective of interim remediation was to implement periodic batch groundwater extraction
(GWE) to remove fuel oxygenate mass from groundwater beneath the site Batch GWE events
•
0955 4
