4PC AM B R I A <br /> hoist No petroleum hydrocarbons, fuel oxygenates, halogenated volatile organic compounds, or <br /> polychlonnated biphenyls were detected in soil samples collected from beneath the former waste <br /> oil UST Total chromium, nickel, and zinc were detected in soil beneath the waste oil tank <br /> Samples collected beneath the hoists were analyzed for total recoverable petroleum hydrocarbons <br /> (TRPH) The sample collected from the northwestern hoist contained 820 ppm TRPH Soil from <br /> beneath the other hoist did not contain TRPH Complete results of waste oil UST and hoist <br /> removals are documented in Cambria's December 15, 2000 Waste Oil TanklHoist Removal <br /> Report <br /> A well survey was submitted to SJCPHS/EHD during our June 19, 2001 meeting Only one <br /> water-producing well was identified within half a mile from the subject site It is a domestic well <br /> located approximately one half mile southwest of the site (Figure 1) <br /> There are three monitoring wells located onsite (MW-1, MW-2, and MW-3) All three wells are <br /> sampled quarterly During the fourth quarter 2001 sampling event, MTBE was detected in all <br /> three wells at concentrations ranging from 580 to 16,000 ppb During the same event, tertiary <br /> butanol (TBA) was also detected in all the wells at concentrations ranging from 24 to 470 ppb <br /> and tertiary amyl methyl ether (TAME) was detected in wells MW-1 and MW-3 at <br /> concentrations of 41 and 25 ppb, respectively Benzene was detected in well MW-2 at 10 ppb <br /> TPHg was not detected, although detection limits were elevated <br /> Based on these results, SJCPHS/EHD requested further assessment of impact to soil and <br /> groundwater beneath the site Cambria submitted a work plan on July 3, 2000 and the results of <br /> this investigation are presented below <br /> INVESTIGATION RESULTS <br /> Personnel Present Cambria geologist Geno Mammini directed the field activities, <br /> working under the supervision of California Registered <br /> Geologist Joe Neely <br /> Permit: Cambria obtained permit No 0027028 from the SJCPHS/EHD <br /> (Appendix A) <br /> Drilling Company• Gregg InSitu, Inc (Gregg)of Martinez, California, (C57 License <br /> No 656407) <br /> 0955 3 <br />
