envtroso
22 fbg m Bormg GP-1 Silt (ML) was encountered in Boring GP-2 at 33 fbg, where the
only sample was collected from this boring Ground water was not encountered in either
of the borings
3.2 Soil Analytical Data
Soil chemical analytical data are presented in Table 2 The distribution of petroleum
hydrocarbons in soils is shown on Plate 2 Certified analytical reports for soils are
contained in Appendix B A summary of the soil chemical analytical results for each
boring is presented below Laboratory analytical data for FOC, porosity, and permeability
are presented in Appendix B
Soil Boring GP-I
Soil Boring GP-1 was located in the eastern corner of the UST complex One soil sample
was analyzed from this boring at a depth of 22 fbg, beneath where sample EN-2NSW/l7
was collected during removal of the former USTs
The soil sample from Boring GP-1 at 22 fbg contained non detectable (ND) levels of TPPH
and BTEX MTBE was detected at a concentration of 2 2 ppm
Soil Boring GP-2
• Soil Boring GP-2 was drilled at an angle to collect a soil sample from beneath the existing
USTs, where petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in soil sample TPI/21 during removal
of the former USTs One soil sample was collected from GP-2 at the depth of 33 fbg,
beneath the location of TP 1/21
TPPH and BTEX were not detected in the soil sample collected from 33 fbg in Boring
GP-2 MTBE was detected at a concentration of 29 ppm This soil sample was also
analyzed for TPPH and BTEX with TCLP extraction and contained ND levels of TPPH
and BTEX
4.0 CONCLUSIONS
Soil samples collected from GP-1 and GP-2 were ND for TPPH and BTEX These
samples were collected beneath locations where petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in
soil samples collected during removal of the former USTs
The vertical extent of TPPH and BTEX in soil beneath the USTs has been delineated by the
two newly-installed soil borings These data indicate petroleum hydrocarbons identified
during the tank removal project are Iocalized and have not migrated through the vadose
zone
Based on these data, we request that closure be granted for this site
357 3
