C A M B R I A Mr Jeffrey Wong
August 26, 2005
contained 5 5 ppb ETBE and 2 6 ppb TAME Samples were not analyzed for TPHg and BTEX
during this sampling event Samples from all wells are analyzed for TPHg and BTEX annually
during the first quarter Cambria does not believe that the analyses performed past the EPA-
recommended hold time significantly affected the results
Cambria includes historical tables detailing well and boring data (Table 1), soil analytical data
(Table 2), and grab groundwater analytical data(Table 3) in this work plan
TECHNICAL RATIONALE FOR PROPOSED SCOPE OF WORK
• Fuel oxygenates are not completely defined in shallow groundwater by the existing array
of groundwater monitoring wells Additional investigation downgradient of well MW-7
is warranted
• Shell has been denied access to the Teresi Trucking property, located downgradient of
well MW-7 The San Joaquin County Mosquito and Vector Control district has also
requested that no more wells be installed on their property, south of the subject site
• SJCEHD requested that Shell install three on-site cross-gradient wells to obtain
additional shallow groundwater data prior to installing downgradient wells on adjacent
properties Cambria proposes these wells below
• The existing deep groundwater monitoring well (MW-11) is placed cross-gradient of the
existing USTs Additional deep groundwater investigation is warranted downgradient of
the USTs, and Cambria proposes such a well below
Work Tasks
Permit Cambria will obtain an appropriate permit for drilling from SJCEHD
Site Safety Plan Cambria will prepare a site safety plan for field work
Utility Clearance Cambria will mark the proposed drilling locations, and the locations will be
cleared through Underground Service Alert prior to drilling In addition, Cambria will retain a
private utility locator to clear the locations
. Site Investigation Four monitoring wells (MW-12 through MW-15) are proposed at the
locations shown on Figure 2 The exploratory borings will be drilled using hollow-stem auger
5
