No Quarterly Monitoring(QM)has occurred at this site since the December 11, 1996 <br /> sampling event. The following work should be completed and a report of findings should be submitted to <br /> PHS/EHD. Upon review of the report of findings PHS/EHD will further direct you. <br /> Initiate and continue QM of groundwater for two consecutive quarters. Analyze samples for Benzene, <br /> Toluene,Xylene,and Ethylbenzene,using EPA Method 8020. Analyze samples for Total Petroleum <br /> Hydrocarbon as gas and Total Petroleum Hydrocarbon as diesel using EPA Method 8015m. Also,analyze <br /> samples for Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether,Tertiary Butyl Alcohol, Ethyl Tertiary Butyl Ether,Di-isopropyl <br /> Ether, and Tertiary Amyl Methyl Ether using EPA Method 8260(see attachment). Submit a rose gradient <br /> diagram with QM Reports. <br /> Conduct a survey of domestic,municipal,agricultural, industrial and any other wells within a 2,000 foot <br /> radius of this site. Contact the Department of Water Resources,municipal water suppliers and nearby <br /> industries. In addition,perform a physical search of the area to identify any wells. Show locations of all <br /> wells,submit the construction details of the wells and evaluate the influence of pumping with respect to the <br /> migration of the contamination. Identify and discuss all public and/or environmental health risks. <br /> If the well survey evidences nearby domestic well(s),sampling and analysis of groundwater in those wells <br /> for the above named contaminants will be necessary. <br /> The OM Report and Well Survey Report should be submitted to PHS/EHD by June 20, 1999. Notify this <br /> office 48 hrs. in advance of the QM event.
