 I
Dust and noise will not be a problem while completing this project. The entire j
treatment or mixing operation will be accomplished in one or two 'days. The mixer is run
by a hydraulic pump, powered by a small muffled diesel motor. None of the equipment
to be utilized will exceed the noise level of equipment normally used in the area. The
material to be treated has been covered since shortly after it was excavated and is moist,
therefore, dust from loading the material should not be a problem.; Material discharged
from the mixer is very moist and will not be dusty. The mixing process takes place
} inside a steel-drum mixer closed at both ends. Very little dust can 1.escape the enclosed
drum.
P
13. Soil Sampling: Soil sampling will be accomplished by 'retrieving samples from the
appropriate areas of the piles with a shovel or other tool. Samples" will be composited !
from four locations around each sampling area. Sample areas will be equidistant along
the length and width of the piles. Locations of the samples!may change at the direction
I of SJPHD/EHD representative on site. All samples will be taken and transported
utilizing the proper containers by Foothill Engineering representatives on-site according
to LUFT guidelines. Samples will be tested for B.E.T.& X and TPH for diesel and
gasoline.
0
14. Work Schedule: Work can begin as soon as SJPHS/EHD approves this work plan.
Soil samples can be taken within 30 days of completion of the mixing process. Sample
I analyses results should be ready for review within 5 days of'Fcollecftion and will be
included in the final report. A decision as to the disposistion of the soil will be made
upon verification of successful treatment. +i
15. Health and Safety Plan: Attached.
