IV. Attendant Training. Training should be developed to comply with all requirements <br /> of existing state and federal requirements and should emphasize protective measures and <br /> proper handling of all chemicals. First aid and emergency procedures in case of <br /> accidental exposure should be explained. Specific details of the program, such as the use <br /> and location of warning labels and material safety data sheets, must also be provided. <br /> These included: <br /> • A statement of company policy and procedures on chemical use. <br /> • An understanding of the chemical's name,purpose, and storage location. <br /> • The method of diluting or measuring the chemical. <br /> • A list of the products that require the use of personal protective equipment. <br /> • Instructions for first aid or medical advice for chemical exposure, including a phone <br /> number for the local poison control center. <br /> • Methods for detecting hazardous chemicals. <br /> • An explanation of the Hazard Communications Standard. <br /> • Specifics of any operation where there is the possibility of exposure to hazardous <br /> chemicals and how to handle the situation. <br /> • Details of the program, including a list of hazardous chemicals and material safety data <br /> sheets. <br /> V. Written Program. As part of the Hazard Communication Standard, a written <br /> program must be developed, implemented, maintained and available to all attendants at <br /> each fueling center. The program must include the company's compliance history, <br /> procedure for labeling containers, an update on the availability of material safety data <br /> sheets, education, and training for all attendants in how to recognize and handle <br /> hazardous chemicals, a list of all attendants who have attended training sessions. <br /> This program must be kept up-to-date at all times. Not only is such a program required <br /> by law, is also essential to reducing the danger of accidental exposure. All attendants <br /> should be trained and actively participate in implementing the program everyday. <br /> Recognizes all fueling center attendants as employees of the grocer store. All fueling <br /> center attendants should follow all operational and safety policies and procedures of <br /> their employer. <br /> Section 2-2 <br />
