These components were originally installed to accommodate "future"
hydrostatic or vacuum monitoring systems as required by AB2481, now in effect for tank
systems installed after July 1, 2004.
Safeway had requested this site be installed with AB2481 components. Upon approval
of a monitoring system it could possibly have been installed at this site making it more
environmentally secure.
Shields, Harper& Co. was responsible to provide components to the site as requested
by Safeway. We were then directed to remove multiple double wall components which
did not have UL approval on the exterior wall since they were still under review by UL
laboratories. Although the required single wall components were approved SJCEH cited
the approval issue as the reason.
Please provide the specific City and/or County ordinance or order requiring the above
mentioned UL approval so that we may adequately document the reason for this
requirement.
4Pr '
BS:jn
OAKLAND SACRAMENTO FRESNO RENO PHOENIX ORANGE
