F ,
STONE
[] BROS .
NIANAGENtIEN'P CO. June 5, 1989
San Joaquin Local Health District
1601 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, CA 95205
RE: Petroleum Contamination Remediation
Former Unocal Service Station #5098
5606 Pacific Avenue
Stockton, CA
Gentlemen:
We have received a Water Monitoring and Sampling Report dated March 17,
1989, prepared by Kaprealian Engineering, Inc. for Unocal Corporation on
property which we own and are anxious to build upon. We obtained a
building permit from the City of Stockton in June, 1988 but were unable to
commence construction because the petroleum contamination remediation for
the soil and water had not yet been completed and accepted. That building
permit has now expired. We have recently requested again from the City
permission to proceed with construction since the above-mentioned report
was completed and distributed. Their response has been that once we
receive a release or certificate from the Local Health District and/or the
Regional Water Quality Control Board, we can apply for reinstatement of the
building permit.
It is our understanding that your office was sent a copy of the Water
Monitoring and Sampling Report noted above. If that is the case, and if
you have been able to review it and feel that our construction can now
proceed, could you please so indicate in a written form that we can show to
the City in order to apply for reinstatement of our building permit?
If there is anything else that you need from us in this regard, please
don't hesitate to call . Thank you for your help.
Sincerely yours,
STONE BROS.
