Box 4415
Houston, Texas 77210-4415
Attention: Mr. James M. Kerr, Jr. , P.G.
Environmental Geologist
Gentlemen:
Evaluation of Petroleum Hydrocarbons
Regal Station 603
6425 Pacific Avenue
Stockton, California
This report presents the results of Harding Lawson Associates' (FLA)
evaluation of petroleum hydrocarbons at the Regal Station 603 located at
6425 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, California. This evaluation was performed
to assess if petroleum hydrocarbons have leaked from the fuel storage and
distribution system and impacted soil or ground-water quality. The work
was authorized by Exxon Contract No. 88861723.
Regal Station Number 603 is located on the northwest corner of the inter-
section of Pacific Avenue and Douglas Avenue in Stockton, California.
Three 10,000 gallon 27-year old single-wall steel underground tanks are
located at the site.
SITE INVESTIGATION
As part of the investigation HLA was required to drill and sample a mini-
mum of two sail borings at the site. The San Joaquin County Health Dis-
trict (County) requires well permits prior to the start of work. On
May 17, 1988, HLA submitted the required permits, fees, and a description
of the anticipated scope of work to the County. On May 26, 1988, FLA
contacted Ms. Diane Hinson of the County regarding the status of the per-
mits. Ms. Hinson stated that she performed a site visit on May 23, 1988
to inspect the location of the proposed borings. At that time, repair
work was being performed to the product and vapor return lines. This
work was being performed in response to a failed precession test of the
regular gasoline tank. The County had not received any information from
Engineers 7655 Redwood Blvd Telephone Arizona Colorado Texas
and PO.Box 578 415/892-0821 Alaska Hawaii Telecooy
...... r. n ,Q T-'..
