ed from this excavated material. Also, soil samples were col-
lected at the bottom of the pit along the side walls in seven
locations. These soil samples were submitted to H.C. Labcrato-
ries for analysis.
A composite of the sixteen composites submitted to B.C. Laborato-
ries was analyzed for soluble and total metals. The analyses
showed metals concentrations which ranged from non-detectable to
below the regulatory criteria set forth by Title 22, Article II
of the California Code of Regulations for hazardous waste.
On October 2, 1990, a composite from each sail pile (six) were
collected and submitted to Sequoia Analytical Laboratory. A
single composite of these six samples was analyzed for toxicity
by 96-hour static bioassay. The resulting LC-50 was greater than
1,000 ppm which classifies the soil as non-hazardous.
Based on these analyses, the soils were self-certified as non-
hazardous and transported to the BJJ Company facility at 2431
East Mariposa Road, Stockton, California. The soils have been
stockpiled on 6 mil plastic pending approval of a remediation and
disposal plan. The results of the excavation and sampling pro-
gram were presented in a report dated November 15, 1990. A
workplan for investigation of potential groundwater contamination
was included in the November, 1990 report.
The pit was subsequently backfilled with claan sandy soil which
was compacted to 95% maximum compaction at optimum moisture. A
new asphalt road was constructed over the top of the former
excavation. Apparently during the paving of the area, monitoring
well MWl was covered with asphalt and is currently inaccessible.
2.0 SUMMARY OF TECHNICAL DATA FROM THE PRELIMINARY REPORT
2.1 Name and address of site, tank owner and contact person:
Site Location:
H.
