Soil samples
were collected during the installation of 4 ground water monitoring wells
at the site on 10 November 1.998- Ground water samples were collected
from the 4 new monitoring wells and 2 existing monitoring wells on 1.6
November 1998. In accordance with the 4 November 1998 workplan, the
soil samples were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline
(TPI T-g) (EPA Method 8015), total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel
(TPH-d) (EPA Method 8015), and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and
xylenes (BTEX) (EPA Method 8020). The ground water samples were
analyzed for TPH-g, TFH-d; BTEX,and oxygenated compounds (EPA
Method 8260).
The soil sampling results are presented in Table 1 (attached). As shown,
the samples collected at MW-3,MW-5, and MW-6 contained no
detectable concentratiom of TPH-g,TPH-d, or BTEC. The sample
collected at MW-4 contained detectable concentrations of TF'H-g and
toluene,ethylbenzene, and xylenes.
The ground water sampling results are presented in Tables 2 and 3
(attached). As shown, the samples collected from the two wells located
upgradient of the former tank locations(MW-3 and MW-5) contained no
detectable concentrations of compounds. The concentration of TPH-g
and BTEX compounds in the downgradient wells (MW-1 and TVfW-2)
were consistent with previous sampling results. As anticipated, the
concentrations of TPH-g and BTEX compounds in the wells installed
