2.0 SUMMARY OF PREVIOUS ACTIVITIES AT FORMER TANK SITE I <br /> The following activities have been completed at former tank site 1 <br />' • Removal of a 500-gallon UST (February 1998), <br /> • Excavation of petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted soils and extraction of <br /> petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted ground water from the tank <br /> excavation (February to May 1998), <br /> 1 • Installation of seven soil borings, five ground water HydroPunches, <br /> and a monitoring well (April 1998), <br />' • Installation of two additional monitoring wells (November 1998), <br /> • Installation of three additional soil borings and one ground water <br />' HydroPunch (February 1999), <br /> Ground water remediation (dune 1999), and <br />' . Routine ground water monitoring during the period from May 1998 <br /> through February 2000 <br /> A description of each of these activities is provided in the following <br /> subsections Figure b illustrates the site features, soil and ground water <br /> sampling locations, and monitoring well locations at former tank site 1 <br />' Table 3 presents all soil sampling data generated during investigations at <br /> former tank site 1 Tables 4 and 5 present all ground water sampling data <br />' at former tank site 1 generated from HydroPunches and monitoring wells, <br /> respectively <br />' 2.1 TANK REMOVAL <br /> A summary of the tank removal activities is presented in Underground <br /> Storage Tank Removal Activities of Former Heinz Facility (ERM, 22 May 1998 <br />' hereinafter "Tank Removal Report") Accordingly, the tank removal <br /> activities are only briefly summarized below <br />' Under the supervision of City of Tracy Fire Department (CTFD) and <br /> PHS/EHD representatives, the 500-gallon UST was removed on 18 <br /> February 1998 ERM EnviroClean of Walnut Creek, California, was <br />' retained to remove the UST Erickson, Inc , of Richmond, California, was <br /> responsible for the transport and disposal of the UST, tank contents, and <br />' ERM 5 HEINZ USA-3374 60.3/27/OD <br />
