' 30 SUMMARY OF PREVIOUS ACTIVITIES AT FORMER TANK SITE 2 <br /> The following activities were completed at former tank site 2 These were <br />' conducted concurrently with activities described above for former tank <br /> site 1 <br />' + Removal of a 2,000-gallon UST (February 1998), <br /> • Excavation of petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted soil and extraction of <br /> petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted ground water from the tank <br /> excavation (February to March 1998), <br /> • Installation of nine soil borings, five ground water HydroPunches, and <br />' a monitoring well (April 1998), <br /> • Installation of two additional monitoring wells (November 1998), <br />' • Installation of one additional soil boring and ground water <br /> HydroPunch (February 1999), <br />' • Ground water remediation (June 1999), and <br /> • Routine ground water monitoring during the period from May 1998 <br /> through February 2000 <br /> A description of each of these activities is provided in the following <br /> subsections Figure 9 illustrates site features, soil and ground water <br /> sampling locations, and monitoring well locations at former tank site 2 <br />' Table b presents all soil sampling data generated during investigations at <br /> former tank site 2 Tables 7 and 8 present all ground water sampling data <br /> at former tank site 2 generated from HydroPunches and morutoring wells, <br /> trespectively <br />' 31 TANK REMOVAL <br />' A summary of the tank removal activities is presented in the Tank <br /> Removal Report Accordingly, the tank removal activities are only briefly <br /> summarized below <br /> Under the supervision of CTFD and PHS/EHD representatives, the 2,000- <br /> gallon UST was removed on 18 February 1998 ERM EnviroClean of <br />' Walnut Creek, California, was retained to remove the UST Erickson, Inc , <br /> of Richmond, California, was responsible for the transport and disposal of <br />' the UST, tank contents, and tank rinsate The top of the tank was severely <br />' ERM 11 HEINZ USA-3374 60-3/27/00 <br />
