' Mr Harlin Knoll <br /> May 1998 <br /> Page 6 <br />' water samples from each of the former tank locations following the <br /> excavations Soil samples were collected from the northern, eastern, and <br /> western sidewalls of UST #1, as well as the bottom of the excavation, <br /> (UST1-4, UST1-5, UST1-6, and UST1-7, respectively) and from the eastern <br /> and western sidewalls and the bottom of the UST #2 excavation (UST2-5, <br />' UST2-6, and UST2-7, respectively) Following collection of the soil <br /> samples, a ground water grab sample was collected from each UST <br /> excavation(UST1-GW2 and UST2-GW2) The samples were analyzed for <br />' the same compounds that were analyzed for during the UST removal <br /> activities except for TPH-d and lead TPH-d and lead were not detected <br /> in any of the samples collected during the UST removal activities, <br /> Stherefore, these compounds were not analyzed for during subsequent <br /> sampling events <br />' TPH-g was detected in all of the soil samples collected from the UST #1 <br /> excavation Concentrations of TPH-g in soil ranged from 6 4 mg/kg on <br /> the western sidewall to 3,100 mg/kg on the northern sidewall The <br /> sample collected at the bottom of the excavation contained a TPH-g <br /> concentration of 1,200 mg/kg BTEX compounds were detected in all <br /> soil samples collected TPH-g was detected at a concentration of 75 mg/1 <br /> in the ground water sample (UST1-GW2) BTEX compounds were <br />' detected in the ground water sample as well The sample results for the <br /> UST #1 excavation are included on Table 1 <br />' TPH-g was detected in all of the soil samples collected from the UST #2 <br /> excavation The concentration of TPH-g in soil ranged from 1,500 mg/kg <br /> on the eastern sidewall to 14,000 mg/kg on the western sidewall The <br />' sample collected at the bottom of the excavation contained a TPH-g <br /> concentration of 66 mg/kg BTEX compounds were detected in all soil <br /> samples collected TPH-g was detected at a concentration of 47 mg/1 in <br />' the ground water sample (UST2-GW2) BTEX compounds were detected <br /> in the ground water sample as well The sample results for the UST #2 <br />' excavation are included on Table 2 <br /> As during the UST removal activities, soil stockpile samples were <br />' collected for waste profiling purposes prior to transportation and <br /> . disposal off-site All impacted soils were loaded, hauled and disposed of <br /> at Forward, Inc landfill Debris from the removal of additional surface <br />' pavements was also transported and disposed of at Forward, Inc , <br /> landfill Copies of the soil and debris transportation and disposal <br />' manifests for all excavation activities are included in Attachment 1 <br />
