Planned Site Activities: <br /> Scheduled work will consist of the following activities <br /> • Saw cutting, breaking and removal of concrete slab <br /> • Excavation and stockpile of clean and impacted soil <br /> Work is anticipated to begin on approximately February 10, 1998 <br /> 7. Minimum Required Health and Safety Procedures: <br /> • Removal of two underground storage tanks <br /> • Backfill of tank excavations and compaction <br /> • Replacement of concrete slab <br /> All EnviroClean personnel will be provided with appropriate personal safety <br /> iequipment and protective clothing The Site Safety Officer is to direct each <br /> worker as to what protection as needed, and must provide proper training in <br /> the use of the safety equipment The required personal protective clothing to <br /> be worn is assigned by this health and Safety Plan <br /> On-site worker exposure will be monitored during work activities A <br /> calibrated photo ionization detector (PID) or flame ionization detector (FID) <br /> will be used to monitor any changes in exposure to volatile organic <br /> compounds (VOCs) Personnel will perform routine monitoring during site <br /> operations to evaluate concentratons of VOCs in employee breathing zones <br /> If VOCs are detected above pre-determined action levels, the procedures <br /> found in section 7 of this health and safety plan will be followed <br /> During work activities, sustained (15 minute) PID readings of 0-3 ppm above <br /> background will require level D protection Level D protection as as follows <br /> • Long-sleeve shirt and long pants, <br /> • Outer nitrile gloves at a minimum for all material-handling Inner latex <br /> surgical gloves are recommended where practical, <br /> • Steel-toed boots or safety shoes, <br /> • Safety glasses, and <br /> • Hard hat <br /> 5 <br /> r <br />
