If an element of the work plan was not approved,
after 60 days you can implement the work but you must notify the regulatory agency prior to that implementation and comply with
any conditions set by the regulatory agency. You will certainly receive our approval or disapproval of that element when you notify
us. If it is a boring/well you will need a permit from our agency and the permit will not be issued if the work is not approved.
Margaret
-----Original Message-----
From: Robert Marty [mailto:rmarty@advgeoenv.com]
Sent: Wednesday, July 06, 2005 1:17 PM
To: Jeff Wong [EH]
Cc: Margaret Lagorio [EH]; Nuel Henderson [EH]; dsexton@advgeoenv.com; 'Calvin (E-mail)'; 'Bill (E-mail)'
Subject: STEFANO'S
Jeff:
After our telephone discussion yesterday, I took a quick look at the data from Stefano's and spoke with Donna
and Bill in my office.
It appears that the "interim" soil remediation may have done the trick in the area that was addressed -- and
additional soil remediaion will probably not be necessary (at least not beyond direct discharge to the air for
recovery, if necessary). So, it looks like it's time for a report to evaluate the data and make some concrete
recommendations. Water will probably have to continue to undergo treatment (it looks like the ozone injection
pilot test was favorable).
Based upon the existing data, I have directed a report be prepared discussing the interim remediation (soil; SVE)
and pilot test(ground water; ozone) which should provide a definite direction of where we are going to go with
the site. I've attached a letter that briefly explains what we are going to complete.
In any case, you can put the most recent letter on "hold" (the impetus for our discussion) until the report is
completed. At that time, assuming concurrence from your agency, we can then proceed with the "confirmation"
borings for the soil.
I hope this clears any confusion; please take a moment and review the letter and let me know if you do not agree.
Thanks again for your input.
If you have any questions or believe this needs more discussion, please do not hesitate to call.
Sincerely,
Robert Marty
Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc.
837 Shaw Road
7/7/2005
