The results of the file review indicate that a single soil boring was drilled on August 17, 1994 for
purposes of characterizing contaminated soil which exists at your former gasoline station.
Analytical results of samples obtained from the soil boring indicate the presence of contaminated soil from a depth
of 20 feet below ground surface to 60 feet below ground surface. Groundwater was encountered at 60 feet below
ground surface. Analysis of the water sample obtained from the 60 foot depth indicates the presence of a
contaminated groundwater plume.
On January 4, 1994 PHSIEHD mailed you an application package for the "Petroleum Underground Storage Tank
Cleanup Fund". Currently PHSIEHD has no record that a "Letter of Commitment" for the State Fund has been
issued by the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) for your site.
At this time PHSIEHD recommends that you continue the preliminary assessment which was begun in July of 1994
until the lateral and vertical extent of the contamination can be defined. Following completion of the assessment,
a remedial action plan may be implemented. Closure status of the cleanup will be assigned when the remedial action
is determined to be complete.
The continued presence of documented contamination at your site is a violation of Title 23, Division 3, Chapter 16,
Article 11 (The Corrective Action Regulations) of the California Code of Regulations.
For further information please call Steven Sasson at (209) 468-3459.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Ste:e asson, Seor HS Diane M.
