I
i
' `r
l
. 20 April 2005
AGE-NC Project No 03-1100
f Y 1
1
' Environmental Laboratories, Inc (CTEL) for analysis The samples were analyzed for
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) in accordance with EPA
Method 8015 Modified,. r `
' 40 Benzene toluene eth lbenzene and xylenes BTEX in accordance with EPA Method
8260B, and -
' Fuel oxygenates methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE), di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl
tertiary-butyl ether(ETBE),tertiary-amyl methyl ether(TAME),tertiary butanol(TBA), 1,2-
' dichloroethane(1,2-DCA),and ethylene dibromide(EDB)in accordance with EPA Method
8260B
3.0. FINDINGS
' Ground water elevation, flow direction, and gradient were determined from field data collected on
18 November 2004 The contaminant impact to ground water was quantified by laboratory analytical
data
I3 1 GROUND WATER GRADIENT AND FLOW DIRECTION
At the time of the November 2004 sampling event, depths to ground water ranged from 44 92 feet
to 46 37 feet below the tops of the well casings During this monitoring event, the ground water level
in the wells was approximately 14 92 feet to 16 37 feet below the tops of the well screens, indicating
that the wells are screened properly and yielded representative shallow ground water samples
Ground water elevation at the site ranged from 25 57 feet below mean sea level (MSL)' in,well
MW-6 to,29 09 feet below MSL in well MW-1 (Table 1) The ground water elevation at the site
' decreased an average of 14 feet between the August 2004'and November 2004 monitoring events
- The'groundwater flow direction was inferred to be flowing towards'the east to northeast in the x
' former UST location at a calculated ,hydraulic gradient of 0 15 foot per foot (ft/ft) Figure 3
illustrates the contoured ground water elevations as measured on 18 November 2004
32 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
ITPH-g was detected in ground water samples collected from wells MW-2 and MW-3 at
. concentrations of 200,000 micrograms per liter(µg/1)and 110µg/l,respectively BTEX compounds
' u Advanced GeoEn"ronmenul,Inc i
 r
a
