Because MW 3 and
Boring 2 show that the area is interspersed with sand layers, it is not
easy to determine the movement of the diesel at the site. We also
decided that to put MW 4 on the downgradient side of the cradle would
duplicate what they have now and would be too far away for a point
of compliance. Therefore, Weiss will submit an amended workplan
that will place MW 4 closer to the source of contamination and better
define how the excavation of the site will take place Boring 2 showed
contamination at 20.7 feet which is three feet below the current water
level. They also must explain that and determine how the excavation
will accomodate the removal of the contaminated soil above and below
the water table. The placement and rationale for MW 4 is to be
included.
Kent Parish of Ensco (formerly Exceltech) called on 21 June to discuss
their proposal to begin work at the Roberts oil site. The last work was
done in 1985 by Kleinfelder Associates Arter talking to Laurie Cotulla
later in the day, we both were unaware that Ensco had begun work
about a month ago. Kent is to prepare a workplan according to the
Regioned Board reporting guidelines. Copies of the new guidelines and
the 1, 2, 5 investigation recommendations also were sent to Kent
