t
n
..rr
(C) 1939 BIO NATIONAL CORPORATION
n..
7 TREATMENT OF CONTAMINATED CUTTINGS
t z These may be open aerated per local regulations, and the soil disposed of as
landfill on site. However, we will place the material in plastic lined steel
dumpsters.
tr
The sail will be treated with a 20-3096 Esturation level o; watery inoculum of
our BIO/100 microbes. A perforated venting pipe will be placed in the middle
of each dumpster, and slaved into the V/E unit for enhancing the aeration
f process. We expect that procedure to last no more than 21 days.
By:using this approach, we are containing vapors that might escape into the
.x atmosphere, however well within acceptable limits, and enhancing the
{ i bioremediation process of the cuttings at the same time.
r 6 The soil will be suitable for on site landfill or disposal at a Claes IYI dump.
8 S7ST13M CONTROL
The Bio National In Situ Bioremediation System has numerous built in control
i:•.
factors that assure safety and simplicity of operation. Thess will be listed as
follows, but the primo element is the natural microbial process itself.
8.1 NATURE'S CONTROL OF ITS OWN SYSTEM
8.1.1 Naturally occurring microbes that will improve the quality of any
contaminated groundwater or sewage treatment system are further
t . enhanced by a reasonable and simple control system.
8.1.2 The microbes and nutrients applied to the contamination can only
iw thrive with a carbon er.d nutrient source, in a range of temperature and
PH that assures controllability.
8.1.3 Microbes will attack the HLOiter endP of any contaminant molecules
first, thereby minimizing the possibility of air polhAtion.
8.1.4 Once the microbes find their food sources exhausted, they either
die or are overcome bylocal soil °lora.
8.1.5 Ozone, is used in vapor control and extracted groundwater phases
of this process, and for well flushing when needed, will destroy bacteria
immediately and strip any residual volatiles left in the system.
8.2 MECM4NICAL AND IiYI)ItAULIC CONTROLS - INOCULUM INSERTION
8.2.1 This system is designed to assure optimum growing conditions in
the zone of contamination without expanding the plume and treating
volatiles before release to the atmosphere.
The key is the kinetics of the vapor extraction Pystem, coupled with
introduced organisms moving by force of capillary action and negative
-- pressure drawing from each venting biowell.
11 HOLT805
