(Geomatrix) submitted a workplan to the California Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB)on June 1, 2001 to conduct a limited additional groundwater assessment on property owned by San Joaquin Valley Associates, known as and to become Bridgeport Trails Development Unit 5 (Geomatrix 2001 of Workplan; included as Attachment 1). According to the Workplan,.Geomatrix proposes to drill nine soil borings to approximately 30 feet below ground surface (bgs)at locations A through G on Unit 5, as shown on Figure 1. Temporary groundwater monitoring wells will be installed in the borings in the shallow zone interval. Well construction will consist of perforated 2-inch diameter casing between about 12 and 27 feet bgs and a surface well seal from about 0 to 9 feet bgs. The wells will be developed, purged, and sampled, and groundwater samples will be sent for laboratory analysis. San Joaquin Valley Associates hereby grants Geomatrix access to the property shown in Figure 1 to conduct the activities described in the Limited Additional Groundwater Assessment Workplan (Geomatrix 2001) subject to the terms and conditions in this letter. This grant of access is limited to the work described in the Workplan and the subsequent conversion of certain of the temporary groundwater monitoring wells to permanent wells and the associated abandonment of the remaining temporary wells. Geomatrix shall conduct all such work consistent with the standard of care appropriate to environmental consultants for this type of work. Geomatrix shall provide copies of all data to San Joaquin Valley Associates or its agents.
