Garrity COPY: D. Andrasko
G. Dworzanski
SUBJECT: Analytical Results and QA/QC Review
Investigative Soil Sampling
Charter Way Site
Stockton,California
May 1997
Two soil samples were collected at the Charter Way Site on May 6 and 7, 1997. The
samples were submitted for volatile organic compounds (VOCs) analysis using EPA
Method 8260 referenced from "Test Methods for Evaluating Solid Waste,
Physical/Chemical Methods",Third Edition, September 1986 and subsequent revisions.
All sample results were acceptable and are summarized in Table 1.
All holding time criteria were met. Laboratory accuracy and precision were judged to
be acceptable based on the results of the matrix spike/matrix spike duplicate
(MS/MSD) analyses. All spike recoveries were within laboratory control limits for the
blank spike demonstrating acceptable accuracy for the methodology. All surrogate
recoveries were within laboratory control limits demonstrating acceptable
sample-specific analytical efficiency. VOCs were non-detect in the associated method
blank extracted with the investigative samples.
All sample and QA/QC sample results were acceptable. No qualification of the data
was necessary.
If you have any questions, please call me at(716) 773-8309.
Patrick J. Garrity
I'JG/ma/0328/1
