i r
STATE OF CALIFORNIA N GEORGE DEUKMEJIAN Governor
CALIFORNIA REGIONAL WATER QUALITY CONTROL BOARD—
CENTRAL VALLEY REGION
3443 ROUTIER ROAD .ale
SACRAMENTO,CA 95827-3098 ;
16 February 1989 t
Mr. Charles Iker
Stockton Ford New Holland, Inc.
2150 West Charter Way
Stockton, CA 95206
PROBLEM ASSESSMENT REPORT FOR STOCKTON FORD NEW HOLLAND INC. AT
2150 WEST CHARTER WAY, STOCKTON
Thank you for submitting the Problem Assessment Report (PAR) for
the 2150 West Charter hay site for our review.. _
The results reported in the PAR show no detectable concentrations
of petroleum hydrocarbons in the soil and water samples collected
from the four borings/monitoring wells installed laterally from
the tank pit. These results appear to indicate that the
petroleum hydrocarbon contamination is limited to the tank pit
area. Therefore, we are requesting that the tank pit area be
further investigated to determine the necessary remedial action
for this site.
In the PAR, McLaren Environmental Engineering has outlined a
proposed work plan to investigate the tank pit and remediate any
excavated soil as well as the stockpiled soil . We request that
the results of the tank pit investigation be submitted to this
Regional Board and the San .Joaquin Local Health District (SJLHD)
in an Addendum the PAR for review before remedial work is
undertaken. We also request that the four monitoring wells be
sounded for water level measurements during the tank pit
investigation to reevaluate the ground water gradient.
Please have this investigative work completed and submitted to us
and the SJLHD by 15 April 1978y.
If you have any questions, please call me at (916) 361-5725.
'
EDWARD W.
