i
The borings which are to be completed as monitor wells will be drilled to
a depth of approximately 20 feet. The monitor. wells will be constructed
through the hollow stem auger using 2-inch diameter flush threaded
Schedule 40 PVC casing and 17-feet of 0.021-inch slotted PVC screen.
Figure 4 shows the proposed monitor well design for the Stockton Ford New
Holland site. The actual well design will b,e based upon site specific
conditions encountered during drilling.
The monitor wells will be developed and sampled following construction.
Prior to sampling, the well heads will be surveyed and the groundwater
static levels measured to determine the local' direction and gradient of
groundwater flow. Groundwater samples will 'Ibe analyzed for TPH using
modified EPA Method 8015 and BTXE by EPA Method 602. In addition, a
LL groundwater sample from the monitor well immediately adjacent to the
excavation will be analyzed for tetraethyl load (TEL) and for ethylene
dibromide (EDB) .
,
Following completion of the site assessment work a Site Assessment Report
will be prepared pursuant to SJLHD guidelines. The report will
C incorporate information presented in thisPreliminary Report, will
document field activities, and will present an evaluation of the
analytical results. The extent of soil and groundwater contamination will
be identified and remedial actions for site cleanup will be proposed, if
necessary.
i
it
l
i
i
I:
Lr
J
' l
