Box 2009 • (1601 East Hazelton Avenue) •Stockton,California 95201
MAY 2 4 1991 (209)468-3400
Opy
DON MADSEN C(
FORD NEW HOLLAND INC
500 DILLER AVENUE
NEW HOLLAND PA 17551
RE: Ford New Holland IN REPLY REFER TO SITE CODE: 1054
2150 W. Charter Way
Stockton, CA
We have reviewed the "Results of First Quarter 1991 Well Sampling
and Gauging" dated March 22, 1991, "Results of Fourth Quarter 1990
Well Sampling and Gauging" dated January 9, 1991, and other reports
submitted by McLaren Hart. In the past two quarterly reports it
has been shown that the gradient at this site has shifted to the
southeast. In the Site Assessment report dated January 1989, it
was stated that according to measurements the gradient was
southerly. In this report it also states that "agricultural
irrigation south and west of the project site appears to result in
fluctuating groundwater levels. " This influence is now being
detected in the gradient shift. With a southeast gradient, the
site does not have a down-gradient well. Also, some contaminated
soil was left in the east side of the former tank location and with
a southeast gradient its effect on groundwater should be
investigated. A monitoring well should be installed southeast of
the former underground tank location. Submit a work plan for
installation of this well to our office by July 10, 1991.
There is additional information not included in your previous
reports that is to be submitted to this office and California
Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) .
There are copies of letters from Forward Landfill and Liquid Waste
Management Landfill stating they were willing to receive the soil
excavated from the site. Provide receipts showing the soil was
received by these landfills. A survey of wells within 2000 feet of
this site has not been conducted. Submit a well survey and discuss
influences the wells have on this site. Water extracted from the
monitoring wells prior to sampling and during development is placed
in drums and left at the site. Document proper disposal of this
extracted water. The above information is to be submitted in your
next quarterly monitoring report.
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
