(Condor) on 3 February 2016. The Work
Plan was revised to address our 10 September 2015 review comments.
Previous site activities associated with the storage and distribution of agricultural supplies
(chemicals, fertilizers, and pesticides) resulted in the release of contaminants, including Total
Kjeldahl Nitrogen (TKN), ammonia, and nitrate, to soil and groundwater. The Work Plan is being
submitted to describe activities proposed to characterize soil and groundwater at the site for
TKN, ammonia, nitrate, pesticides, petroleum hydrocarbons, and LUFT 5 heavy metals, and to
delineate the extent of impacted soil and groundwater. The Work Plan proposes to advance 14
soil borings to collect soil and groundwater samples for laboratory analysis and to install three
groundwater monitoring wells. In addition, a soil/stormwater sample will be collected from the
stormwater retention basin located on the southeast portion of the site and analyzed for TKN,
ammonia, nitrate, pesticides, and LUFT 5 heavy metals. The Work Plan also proposes to collect
soil from one boring for analysis of hydraulic conductivity.
The Work Plan is acceptable to Central Valley Water Board staff. You may proceed with
scheduling the field investigations. Please notify this office at least 48 hours prior to initiation of
field activities in the event that staff elect to be present to observe the work.
The site investigation report should be submitted to this office no later than 1 August 2016.
The report should be prepared in general accordance with Items to be Included in a Site
Assessment Report, which is attached for your reference.
KARL E.
