The Work Plan proposes installing four multi-level
wells for groundwater sampling and 15 soil borings for soil gas sampling to delineate the extent
of solvent and total petroleum hydrocarbon pollution. Although the Work Plan describes the
proposed multi-level well, it does not provide a figure to illustrate the construction and how each
level is isolated from the other levels. Furthermore, the Work Plan does not state whether the
proposed construction is approved by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department. The Work Plan must include this information.
Board staff concurs with the Work Plan provided SJCEHD concurs with the proposed well
construction and we receive a figure illustrating the design of a multi-level well by 2 May 2003.
By 11 July 2003,please submit an investigation report discussing field activities and sampling
results with boring, well construction, and well development logs.
