The Report shows concentrations of total petroleum
hydrocarbons as Stoddard solvent up to 16,000 micrograms per liter(µg/1), vinyl chloride up to
220 µg/1, cis-l,2-dichloroethene up to 1,200 µg/1, tetrachloroethene up to 900 µg/l, and
trichloroethene up to 700 µg/1 during the February 2002 sampling event.
The sample results discussed above show that groundwater is polluted with constituents above
water quality limits. Therefore, an investigation is needed to determine the lateral and vertical
extent of groundwater pollution at the site. The Report does not include soil or soil vapor
analytical data. Therefore, by 3 December 2002,please submit a work plan to delineate the
lateral and vertical extent of pollution in groundwater, including a proposal for a soil gas
investigation, if the extent of pollution in the soil is not defined. The Work Plan should be
prepared in general accordance with the attached Items To Be Included In A Site Assessment
Work Plan.
