The Rose Marie Realty World at 1 North Gherbkee bane was
formerly a gas station; the current Beacon Gas statioM at '35 North
Cherokee Lane; and the northeast corner of East pine Street and
North Cherokee Lane (Oak Furniture Outlet) wa■ fokmeriy a gas
station.
The Beacon station has had a documented release of hydrocarbons and
remedial action has been undertaken. However, nd records or
documentation of tank closure and/or soil, and, groundwater
investigation at the other two sites were found (PES report dated
31 July 1991) . It was also reported that a gas station, dry cleaner
and automobile repair shop were formerly located 'on the block
immediately south of the site (in the vicinity of MW-12 and MW-13) .
The presence (or former presence) of a dry cleaners south of the
site could explain the volatile haloearbcns (9010/601) detected in
the nearby monitoring wells. These off-site ' sourdes should be
investigated as to their possible contribution to. the overall
contamination plume. ,
If you have any questions or comments, please contaot our office.
sincerely,
GEOLOGICAL AIMIT SUVICES, TNC.
Bob Marty _
Project Geologis'
cot Mr. Jeff Werner, Gtl)M
i
i
i
i
