O. Box 1210 Lodi, CA 95241 'vl'
DEC 1 2 1994
Subject: Revised Monitoring and Reporting Program No. 93-701ENV(RONMENTAL HEALTH
16 South Cherokee Lane, Lodi, San Joaquin County PERMIT/SERVICES
Dear Mr. Gillespie:
We have received and reviewed the latest correspondence from Ms. Elizabeth Thayer at the
Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB). The letter is dated
November 22, 1994 and discussed changes to the Revised Monitoring and Reporting
Program (RMRP) at 16 South Cherokee Lane in Lodi.
The RMRP now includes most of the modifications suggested by GeoAudit in a letter dated
October 31, 1994. We find the new RMRP to be satisfactory and do not recommend any
changes at this time. While some of the data may prove to be ambiguous, the parameters
measured should provide sufficient data to evaluate the progress of the bioremediation. We
will be preparing a new monitoring schedule acceptable to the RMRP.
As you are aware,we have completed the initial drilling to monitor bioremediation progress
in the soil. We drilled a total of four soil borings on November 15 and 16, 1994. A total
of 14 soil samples were analyzed by a state-certified laboratory for TPH as gasoline and
BTE&X. Note: The fourth boring was placed outside the investigated soil plume. Field
observations did not indicate that hydrocarbons were encountered; therefore,no soil samples
from this boring were analyzed for TPH or BTE&X.
Selected soil samples from each boring were also analyzed for nitrates, nitrites, phosphates,
pH, bacterial composition and bacterial numbers. Analytical results of the soil samples
(TPH and BTE&X) are attached. The initial results are very encouraging. A complete
discussion of all soil sample analyses will be discussed in the December 1994 Quarterly
Report ( to be completed by January 20, 1995).
1
Full Spectrum Environmental Services• Hydrogeology
