decreased from seven to four, the concentrations in the remaining wells has increased.
Seasonal fluctuations of the groundwater may be the cause of the erratic data.
The Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) for 1,2-DCA in drinking water in California is
0.0005 mg/l (ppm). The detected concentrations of 1,2-DCA at the Geweke site continue
to exceed the MCL. However, the source of the 1,2-DCA is still uncertain and may be off-
site.
5.4 Soluble Lead
Lead was detected at consistent but very low concentrations in all wells, in contrast to the
September monitoring event, when no lead was detected. The same laboratory and detection
limits were used in both events. However, concentrations were below the MCL of 0.05
mg/L.
5.5 Recommendations
GeoAudit recommends that the next quarterly sampling event be scheduled for March of
1994. Pending approval of the Waste Discharge Requirements waiver by the State Water
Board, we have also scheduled the inoculation of wells for early February.
6.0 LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily
exercised by environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities. The findings
were based upon analytical results provided by an independent laboratory. Evaluations of
the geologic/hydrogeologic conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation are
made from a limited number of available data points (i.e. monitoring wells) and subsurface
conditions may vary away from these data points. No other warranty, expressed or implied,
is made as to the professional recommendations contained in this report.
13
133A-KO1DM OR
