The laboratory will also need
sufficient notice in order to obtain and prepare the growth medium
and schedule the inoculation.
In the moantime, it should also be noted that the blower unit
described in the FRP is currently installed and running at the
site, representing an initial stage of the bioremediation process.
This unit is providing a low-pressure source of oxygen which will
stimulate natural biodegradation and augment the eventual
introduction of the hydrocarbon-consuming bacteria. The requested
extension will also provide time to address any additional concerns
that the Board may have involving the proposed process and approve
the FRP.
Please contact our office as soon as possible.
Sincerely,
• GEOLOGICAL AUDIT SERVICES, INC.
Bob Marty
Project Manager
cc: Mr. Mark Geweke - GLDM
Mr. James DeMera - Mullen, Sullivan & Newton
Mr, Gordon Boggs - CVRWQCB
Mr. Harlin Knoll - PHS/EHD
•
2
