Thayer:
We are in receipt of your letter to Mr. Mark Geweke dated September
21, 1993 , including your September 20 memorandum to Mr. Gordon
Boggs of CVRWQCB, regarding GeoAudit' s Final Remedial Plan (FRP)
for the referenced site. In response, GeoAudit has the following
additional information for your review. The numbers correspond to
your memorandum to Mr. Boggs.
1) The GL-series of borings was drilled in February 1986 by Brown
and Caldwell Consultants (BCC) of Sacramento. According to
BCC ' s "Site Investigation Report" dated August 23, 1990, the
descriptions of GL-3 and GL-4 were included in BCC's April 15,
1986 "Final Site Investigation Report" . The locations of these
borings are shown on Figure 3-4 of the former report and on
Plate 2 of PES Environmental Is Problem Assessment Report (PAR)
dated July 1991 . The analytical data from borings GL-3 and GL-
4 are included in Table 2 of the August 1990 report; we used
these data to further constrain the boundaries of the
contaminant plumes shown on Figures 8 & 9 in the FRP. We do
not have logs of these borings, and did not use them for
lithological purposes (they are not shown on Figures 5 and 6
in our FRP) .
As for remediation wells VW-1 through VW-4 , please refer to
Figure 4 of the FRP for the design of these wells and Appendix
A for the boring logs. The locations of the wells were shown
on Figures 2a and 2b, and on the enclosed revised site plan.
2) A signed copy of the letter included in Appendix C of the FRP
is attached.
3) The remediation wells at the site were installed to depths of
55 feet; groundwater at the site is near 60 feet.
