CHEROKEE LANE, LODI, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY I have reviewed the "Final Remedial Action Work Plan" (FRP) , dated 2 January 1992, prepared by Geological Audit Services, Inc. (GAS) for Geweke, and submitted in accordance with the revised due date, 2 January 1992. I do not object to the proposed remedial actions in concept (which consist of soil vapor extraction with incineration of the extracted vapors and ground water extraction and carbon filtration with reinjection of the treated ground water) . However, the FRP was incomplete. See the attached memorandum for my comments . By 30 Apri,1 1992, Geweke must submit an addendum to the FRP containing the following: 1 . Maps and figures depicting the extent of soil and ground water contamination; 2. A complete discussion of the soil vapor extraction system including: A. The reference to 500 ppm as hexane and the proposed procedure and rationale for determining when vapor extraction is no longer necessary; B. The rationale for extending the vapor extraction well screens from 4 to 70 feet rather than installing cluster wells at discrete depths; C. A proposal to investigate and remediate the soil layers previously in contact with contaminated ground water. 3. A complete discussion of the ground water extraction, remediation, and reinjection system, including: A. The location of an extraction well , which contains sufficient water to be used for extraction all year, either the existing EW-1 or a new well to be constructed near or as a replacement for MW-4;
