Cherokee
Lodi, CA 95241
San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) has reviewed your
August 14, 1991,proposal for disposal of soil and groundwater generated during site investigation activities
in May and June of this year. You propose to spread the drill cuttings on the ground at 1130 Beckman Road
in Lodi. This lot will later be paved over during construction of Geweke Toyota. Geweke also proposed to
store purged groundwater on the site until the groundwater treatment system is installed.
We have discussed these proposals with the California Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB)
and agreed that they are acceptable. Please be advised that future proposals for disposal of additional spoils
will have to be reviewed.
Your consultant,PES Environmental, Inc., also requested written clarification on additional aquifer testing.
PHS/EHD and CVRWQCB also agree that additional aquifer testing may be delayed until it has been
determined that infiltration or injection of treated groundwater is the proposed method of disposal.
PHS/EHD is awaiting CVRWQCB comments on the proposed quarterly groundwater monitoring reports. We
will draft our comments upon receipt of CVRWQCB guidance.
If you have any further questions, contact Eleanor Ratliff, REHS, at (209)468-3454.
Jogi Khanna, M.D., M.P.H.
Health Office
urie A.
