Briefly, as discussed i
during our meeting, we propose the placement of three soil borings to be
completed as ground water monitoring wells. Appropriate sampling, logging and
laboratory analyses will be performed as necessary. Our work plan is as
follows: .
Soil Borings/Monito.ing Well Placement " l `
We propose placing three soil borings, to be completed as monitoring wells.
The purpose of the soil borings is to assess if the source of the chemicals
detected in montoring wells MW-3 and MW-4 originate in areas off-site. Soil
samples would be collected at 5-foot intervals from 10 feet below ground surface
to first occu;:ence of ground water. The borings would be togged by a geologist c'
and completer Ings would be included with our report. Monitoring wells would be s
constructed ,in the soil borings. The purpose of the Enonitr-t:tg wells would be
to assess if the source of the chemicals detected in MW-3'butd MW-4 originate in
areas off-site, and to supplement existing down gradient wells.
Proposed borings/monitoring well locations are shown on Plate 1. PW-6 is
located upgradient from MW-3 and MW-4. PW-7 is located down gradient from MW-3.
and MW-4. PW-5 is alaced to account for any shifts in ground water flow direr-
tion. Construction details for the monitoring wells are shown on Plate U.
OTHER OFFICES:
.
