California 95240 017-4950-0111 <br /> i' Subject: Recommendations for Ongoing Groundwater Investigation and <br /> Implementation of a Remedial .Action Pian at <br /> ti 16 South Cherokee Lane, Lodi, California <br /> - Dear Mr. Werner: <br /> This letter briefly outlines recommendations made by Brown and Caldwell Consultants <br /> (Brown and Cadwell) for the ongoing groundwater investigation at the Geweke Land Devel- <br /> opment and Marketing (Geweke) subject size. The recommendations are based on the site <br /> f investigations. In order to comply with Cleanup and Abatement Order (Order) Number 90- <br /> 702, issued by the California Regional Water Quality Control Board;Board), Central Valley <br /> Region, our recommendations include the following: <br /> • disposal of stockpiled soil at the couniv landfill; <br /> • implementation of a quarterly groundwater•monito.,ing program; <br /> • design of an interim groundwater treatment system; <br /> • installation and start-up of a groundwater treatment system; and <br /> • installation and development of four additional monitoring wells. <br /> Each of these recommendations are discussed below. As you are aware, the Board has an <br /> active interest in this project,and has requested a time schedule for completion of the ground- <br /> water investigation and implementation of the remedial action plan. Our recommended time <br /> schedule is provided as Figure 1. <br /> Disposal of Stockpiled Soil <br /> At this time, approximately 4 cubic yards of drill nittings are stockpiled on the site. One <br /> composite scil sample was collected from the soil, and analytical results indicated that total <br />
