19 <br /> Training Requirements <br /> All BC staff working on site have completed training in hazard recogt.ition and basic health <br /> and safety issues as required by the Occupational Safety and Health regulations contained in 29 <br /> CFR 1910.120 (e). In addition, each employee will be familiar with the requirements of this <br /> SSHP, and will participate in safety briefings. <br /> ( <br /> Personai Protective Equipment <br /> f Based on the hazard analysis for this project, the following PPE will be required and used <br /> while working on site. Changes to these specified items of PPE will not be made withou* the <br /> approval of the SSO. Field personnel will wear hard hat,steel-tcccl boats,disposable gloves,and <br /> [ ^ work clothes. In addition, for'tsaffic hazards, high-visibility vests will be worn. <br /> Environmental Monitoring Plan <br /> f+% <br /> The potential hazards identified in the hazard analysis portion of this SSHP indicate that <br /> � a <br /> environmental monitoring will not be necessary for this project. <br /> t Medical Surveillance Requirements <br /> t Medical surveillance is conducted as a routine program for BC field staff,mid it meets the <br /> requirements of 29 CFR 1910.120 (f). There will not be any special medical tests or <br /> examinations required for staff involved in this project. <br /> Site Control Measures <br /> The BC project geologist, Ms. Hubbard,will be in charge of on-site activities and will 'e <br /> responsible for size control. A map of the site is included as Figure 2. The active work area will <br /> f be defined by safety tape, cones.or other suitable methods. <br /> Communication between field team members will consist of verbal communications. <br /> Work Practices. Safe work practices to bt,employed during the entire progress of field <br /> work are as follows: <br /> ._ 1. Set up,assemble,and check out all equipment for integrity and proper function prior to <br /> starting work activities. <br /> 2. Do not use faulty or suspect equipment. <br /> 3. Use only new and intact protective clothing. Change the suit, gloves, etc. if they tear. <br /> ` �. . Q. Do not use hands to wipe sweat away from face. Use a clean towel or paper towels. <br />
