13 April 1993 <br /> (GeoAudit-1. 33) <br /> Page 4 of 5 <br /> 11) Auger returns and soil sample duplicates will be logged in <br /> accordance with the Unified Soil Classification system. <br /> 12) Borings in which contamination is encountered will be <br /> completed as 4-inch diameter vadose zone remediation wells. <br /> The wells will be screened with 4-inch slotted PVC casing in <br /> the contaminated zone (s) . Monterey sand will be used as the <br /> filter pack and the wells will be backfilled with Portland <br />' Cement and/or bentonite chips. Well heads will be secured with <br /> a traffic rated well box and lid. <br /> 13) Auger returns will be placed in DOT approved drums and stored <br />' on-site pending analytical results. <br /> 14) Preparation of a written report summarizing the results in a <br />' format to be submitted to the CVRWQCB and the PHS/EHD. The <br /> report will be signed by a California Registered Geologist. <br /> If a monitoring- well north and up-gradient of MW-6 is needed, the <br /> following procedures will be followed: <br /> 15) Using a truck-mounted drilling rig with hollow stem augers, <br /> drill (1) pilot boring north and up-gradient of MW-6. The <br /> approximate location is illustrated on Figure 2 . <br />' 16) The pilot boring will be completed as a 2-inch diameter <br /> groundwater monitoring well in accordance with the well design <br /> illustrated on Figure 3. The well will be developed using a <br />' surge block. <br /> 17) The monitoring well will be surveyed relative to existing <br /> wells. <br />' 18) No sooner than 48 hours after completion of the well, measure <br /> the static water level in the well. The well will be purged <br />' and after temperature, pH and conductivity have stabilized, a <br /> single water sample will be collected. The purge water will be <br /> stored on-site in DOT approved drums. <br />' 19) The water sample will be analyzed for TPH as gasoline, BTE&X, <br /> volatile halocarbons, total lead and ethylenedibromide (EDB) <br /> in accordance with DHS method 8015m and EPA methods 602 , 601, <br />' 7421 and AB 1803 , respectively. <br /> 20) Preparation of a report summarizing the monitoring well <br /> installation and analytical results in conjunction with <br /> quarterly monitoring of the existing wells. <br />
