CLEAN ENVIRONMENT ENGINEERS, INC.
SOS ALL-AIR CONTROL PANELS
-
' FUNCTION:
The control panels operate the product (oil) and water pumps and thus govern the fluid
' removal process. They also monitor the recovered product holding tank(s) to turn off
the system when the tank(s) are full. Further, they periodically drain the air filter to
ensure that clean, dry air enters the controls.
The panels can be submerged in water without harm and can withstand exposure to
' dust and vibration which would normally damage electrical systems.
METHOD OF OPERATION:
' The panels are powered entirely by compressed air. Two quarter-inch (6 mm) air lines
feed the panel from air filters. The air to the logic components of the panel is filtered
' much finer than the air to the pumps. The panel has the following outlets:
• i
A. Well Level Sensor - This outlet senses the back pressure on a hose that
leads down the-well. When the fluid level rises in the well, the back pressure
increases. This is transmitted to pneumatic amplifiers in the panel.
' B. Tank-Full Sensors (2) - Two outlets feel the back pressure on hoses
which lead to the recovered product tank. Both feed the pressure to
amplifiers in the panel. If pressure rises on one hose, the unit is shut down,
' If the pressure falls on the other hose, the unit is shut down. This dual shut- .
off provides added safety in the event the hoses are cut or pinched. Further,
if either hose is disconnected from the panel, the system is shut down. Only
by correcting the cause of the shutdown gAn pushing the reset button, can
the unit be made operational again.
' C. Filter Pulse Drain - Each time the product pump is activated a pulse of air
is sent to the air filters to drain it of water and oil. This reduces maintenance
and down time of the system due to contaminated air reaching the controls.
D. Product Pump Air - The air to drive the product pump comes from this
fitting. It is emitted during the "on" cycle and exhausted during the "off" cycle
' of the product pump.
E. Water Pump Air - The air to drive the water pump comes from this fitting. It
is emitted when the back pressure in the well level sensing hose is greater
than 4" (10 cm) of water pressure and is exhausted when it is less than 3"
J (7.6 cm) of water pressure.
